The Romanian designer Andrei Avarvarii, well-known for its both interesting and intriguing car renderings, has recently come up with a computer-generated image of how he imagined the future SL-Klasse roadster would look like. Avarvarii combined styling lines from two different Mercedes-Benz models:
- the headlights from the very nonconformist F 700 concept;
- the radiator grille, the front air intake and the exterior mirrors from the new SLS AMG Gullwing.
The final result is, all in all, OK, although a bit awkward for a Merc. Forget about the Santa he put behind the wheel. It was a bad move...

Stuttgart, Germany, Jan 01, 2010105 years ago – 8 February 1905: Georg Wiß established the Süddeutsche Automobilfabrik Gaggenau GmbH in Gaggenau. In late November 1907 Benz & Cie. decided on a takeover. The factory was renamed Benz-Werke Gaggenau GmbH on 31 December 1910.
85 years ago – 18 February 1925: The Mercedes star inside a laurel wreath was registered as a trademark.
75 years ago – 14 - 24 February 1935: Daimler-Benz presented the 150 sports car (W 30 series) with a rear-mounted, 1.5-litre, four-cylinder engine at the International Car and Motorcycle Show in Berlin.
15 years ago – 23 February 1995: Evobus GmbH was created by merging the bus division of Mercedes-Benz AG with Karl Kässbohrer GmbH. The Mercedes-Benz and Setra brands continued to appear on the market separately.
